Chaney and Aaron do a great job making a gritty frontier space station full of interesting characters and a trainee cop MC fighting for justice. Space cop drama isn't by usual reading but both authors make this a must read.
“I’m not here to prove anything to you, Sheriff. I’m here for the people out there.” I liked Galactic Law #1 very much! The combination of detective-like mystery, intrigue, normal no héroe rookie, and SciFi is excellent. A different and refreshing story, it pulled me in from the beginning, the tempo starts with a fine pace, building up with an intriguing storyline, charismatic characters, some of them very odd, and a fabulous world building. Just when you think you have figured everything out … nothing is as it seems. It’s tense, taut and reads like you're trying to catch your breath as the authors pile mystery on top of intrigue and serves with a perfect slice of humor. This is a fast paced thriller with believable events, a couple of twists that you never see coming, and an ending that will make you want to read the next book immediately! A well co-written book. We have a new Space Cowboy! I’m definitely going to follow this new series!
Frontier justice in space is an awful lot like the storied justice of the old American West. Lawmen come from all levels of society, but embrace the demand "Do the right thing! " After two years of training Gage Walker has been in the field with his trainer almost long enough to become a Deputy- maybe. Then he ignores protocol (again) and earns the wrath of the Sheriff. What follows is a combination of coming of age, hard-boiled detection, farce, sit-com, espionage, betrayal, and a guide for thosewho want to do what's right in a torturously complex universe. I especially commend Chaney for the place he gives graphic sex: Nowhere! Great lit? I don't know, but it is a great read!
Set in the future, a rookie cop, actually a trainee appears to be getting ambushed by everyone he encounters. His training officer has made his life a miserable existence. Anyone who has ever been a police officer understands this. This is a very fast paced and enjoyable read. Brings back memories!
A really fun read. More twists and turns than a box full of worms😃 The prose is so spot on descriptive that it is easy to relate to most of the situations. Especially the challenge of an older guy stuck in the role of trying to protect a hip young fiancee and her rich pampered friends. If you've ever read a Cozy mystery this will remind you of that genre.
Excellent world building, convoluted plot, interesting characters, and really good action scenes. The author keeps the telling to a minimum and the showing to a maximum. The protagonist is a trainee LEO assigned to do a bodyguard gig, and nothing is what it seems.I look forward to more books in this series.
Yup that pun was intended. Loved this story it is very fast paced and convoluted, with major schools of red herrings to mislead the reader. There are evildoers throughout the story, major corporations doing bad things, space mafia types ditto. Then there is justice hampered by bureaucratic special rules and red tape. Also lessons in ethics and how to make them work in various societal situations. Buy this series or at least book number one, it was pleasure to read.
Respectfully C Wright. (Some where in the hills of Northern California.)
A little light action adventure in the context of future law enforcement, well developed characters, a believable technological society/environment. Good entertainment. I’ll get and read the next one n the series.
I consider this book to be excellent. I did not give five stars because in the subsequent books it does not become clear how everything is connected. This is the second time I am reading the series in order to try to understand better how it leads the reader to the end. Anyway, how likes fights and a compelling story should dive right in.
