I love this novella it's short but of so sweet. Leilanie is funny and Tassar omg his the sweetest ever and I'm glad to catch up with Chloe and Jutari with their baby girl Kivita plus Lord Va'rin and Milly. I do hope Vordigar will get his own story.
This is a novella length sci-fi/alien romance by Ruby Dixon. It is adult themed with plenty of cussing, action, and steamy scenes. There are no cliffhangers, no cheating, and always an HEA. This can be read as a stand alone title but you won’t have the back stories of all the side characters and their books are just as great so I suggest you read in series order. The characters are developed even though its novella length and you definitely feel the connection between the couple. I was NOT paid for this honest review. I will try and limit the spoilers as much as possible.
Tassar is an escaped war criminal new to this backwater framing planet and needs to secure a human mate to stay on the planet indefinitely. He is not sure he will be able to deal with the fragile humans he sees other Messakh males mated to so he agrees to a mating of convenience until he catches a glimpse of Leilana. Leilana needs help working and protecting her farm land. Her neighbors are getting restless and want to force her into submission and steal her land. A seven foot tall, blue, muscle bound husband sounds like the perfect way to send her creepy snake looking neighbors running, besides it will just be a business transaction she doesn’t really want a husband. Sparks fly when this couple meets and Tassar is determined to make the mating real in every way,
I am a huge Ruby Dixon fan I really enjoy most everything she has written and this novella is great I only had two problems with it. It was too short (she always leaves me wanting more) and there is a steamy scene that just starts to get good and then life intervene’s and we do not get to finish where the couple was headed. If you are familiar with the behavior’s of the blue Messakh males than you know they really really love to do something to females and this girl was cruelly interrupted before she was treated to third base. Then I felt like the main steamy scene was a little anti climatic because they never revisited that part. Not a big deal but i figured Ms. Dixon was teasing us and would sneak it back in somewhere but she didn’t and that surprised me. Beyond that small issue I really enjoyed this novella it was worth the price and the read. Enjoy!
Short and sweet and sexy as hell! I love that Ruby Dixon does these "Slice of life" stories for her IPB series, where you get to catch up with old friends from her books, so I am delighted to see one from her Corsair world as well. It was awesome to find out how Jutari and Chloe, and Lord V'Rinn and Molly were doing. Before you read this story you might want to read "Prison Planet Barbarian" , Jutari and Chloe's story, and "Pretty Human", for Lord V'Rinn and Molly's story. Both are set in the same world as the Corsair books and have a connecting storyline tie-in through "The Corsair's Captive Human" (Lucian and Fran's story). Jutari and Kivian are brothers. You will love Leilani and Torrin!
I originally listened to this through the RMR podcast and, since I absolute LOVE everything Mesakkah (those big, blue aliens know how to bring the charm, man!), I snapped this book up as soon as it was available. Because I'm always down to read about these aliens and their human-loving ways.
Tassar is everything I expect from the Mesakkah. He might be coming from a rough place, but he's a gentleman, through and through. While he has a few doubts initially about binding himself to a human female, he changes his mind in a big way as soon as he sees Leilani.
Instead of the expected marriage of convenience, he's ALL IN. Protective instincts engaged.
As for Leilani, she's not thrilled about needing to take anyone on as a protector, but she's in a tough situation and, as it turns out, she REALLY likes what she sees when presented with Tassar. It might take her a while to really commit to him, but she has no issues with the way the guy looks.
Aliens loving humans is my thang, man, and these aliens love HARD and I am so here for that!
Leilani needed protection. Tassar needed a new life under the radar. She had rules! No pressure about Sex! She would decide whether or not if they did. But she wanted him on site and visa a vice. After catching her in the shower oh lala. Then they come and take him away. But she won't let him go. This is a short romance, but well worth reading. It has a beautiful ending! I recommend this book for adults only.
This is a very short read set in Ruby's IPB universe, though it does not take place on the Ice Planet itself. This one is set on the farming planet of Risda III, where some Mesakkah males have settled with their human mates. If it is possible, I love these mesakkahs even more than the sakhui of IPB. Can't wait to read Vordigar's story and about the new colony of human women. Thanks Ruby for another enchanting story.
I absolutely adore Leilani. I love that she talks so much and to everything. I giggIed all the way thru this story. It just made me happy. Tassar is so swoon worthy. He is perfect for Leilani. I loved revisiting Chloe, Jutari, Lord va'Rin and Milly. I can't wait for Vordigar's book. I just know there is a special human for him, too.
This was my first sci-fi alien romance, but it certainly won't be the last. I absolutely loved it. I listened to the free audio version through the Read Me Romance and also purchased the ebook edition that contains a bonus epilogue.
