Nothing wrong with the product, but it only works in one direction (DP computer to HDMI monitor) and I wanted it to work the other way. I never did find what I needed so eventually bought a DP/DP cable.
DO NOT USE FOR HTC VIVE. DisplayPort to HDMI does not work for the Vive. Instead use DisplayPort to DisplayPort Mini (the unused square port). Any brand of DP to HDMI cable is incredibly hard to get working and is a very common problem on the forums whilst the DP Mini is perfect and instantly works as designed.
With that out of the way the DP to HDMI works as you would expect. After DP to HDMI failed for Vive (user error) I went with the same company for the DP to DP Mini cable which says a lot for them. I can't comment on the transmission of sound as my setup simply isn't wired that way but for 1080p it works great. Its significantly cheaper than the cables in the commercial shops around, even with next day ultrafast super delivery. If you want a cable for DP to HDMI for 1080p it works and its the length it claims which is about the best you can say about any DP or HDMI cable. Signal quality as DP and HDMI use digital it will always be a perfect picture (making the £1000 solid silver cables as good as £3 cheap cables), its not especially hardened or weaker than you would anticipate and it fits in the socket well as you would expect for any cable above £3.
Ultimately if you need a DP to HDMI cable for 1080p its certainly a cable I would get again, but if you needed to go outside of HDMI specifications and go above 1080p I would consider it for its price but not expect it to work though the majority of similar cables wouldn't work either. Bottom line, its better than its price suggests and it works, for anyone using 1080p that's all you need.
Perfect for connecting gaming pc to Monitor with HDMI ports. Sensible packaging and the the cable feels nice although only been used a few days.
Something to be aware of is that the HDMI end is way longer than a normal HDMI cable. If you have a wall mounted TV this might be an issue although it's no problem for me. I knocked one star off for this cos it wouldn't have worked on our wall mounted TV.
This last part is a general observation not a problem with the cable. This is a directional cable it only works connecting a display port PC to a HDMI device. It won't connect a HDMI PC to a Display Port monitor. Hopefully this means you buy the right cable for your needs.
I am ordering another two of these. That says it all really......
Ok, so a video cable is a video cable. It isn't 1987 anymore, and you don't need to have superb electrical conductivity for picture quality because it's digital and it either works or it doesn't.
So in 2020 there isn't a huge amount of room for a cable that tries to sell itself as a super high quality amazing picture quality cable.
So with that in mind, this cable does exactly what I wanted it to, but it didn't need to come in the fancy cardboard box to try to make itself look more upmarket. They could have sold it cheaper without the cable and I've have happily bought it!
Bought this cable (Displayport to HDMI) for a new monitor I purchased, my graphics card has 1x HDMI slot and 1x Displayport slot for video output. I Purchased 2x S24D330 24-Inch LED Monitors and required a Displayport to HDMI cable to use one monitor, and a regular HDMI to use the other.
The cable currently works fine, no issues. Bought the 1.8 meter length which is probably the sweetspot for length, unless your certain you will need a much longer cable in whatever setup you are working with. The 1.8 meter is also short enough that even if (well at least in my case) your desktop is directly beside your monitors setup, its not so long that its a nuisance, and its short enough to just be coiled up and hid wherever.
The price was low enough that for the job it does, getting a >2 year lifespan would be ideal, I would be happy to purchase this product again if it works out that way, and should I need a similar cable in future, I feel this product is of ample quality and price range that i can confidently purchase again with minimal concerns.
The packaging was nice enough, pretty hassle free. Appeared to be a non conductive resealable bag.
There are no apparent faults in image quality from the monitor or cable. But its only been 3 days, so I cant give a definitive answer on how it holds up for the initial phase of usage.
All in all, works as expected, 1920 x 1080 with no flaws, easy to setup, happy with the price.
So recently I upgraded my GPU from a GTX 970 4GB to a GTX 1660 6GB and was using two monitors, one monitor was DVI and the other was HDMI however when i got the 1660 there were no DVI ports as its very modern and only had 3 display ports and 1 HDMI.
Owning no Display Port cables i came to amazon to find one however realised my monitors didn’t have display ports either.
Seeing this high quality picture i instantly clicked after searching “DisplayPort to HDMI” and paid for the prouduct.
The cable came in a very nice package, was held down in a plastic outline of the cable and slid out very nicely from the package then plugged the cable in.
The monitor worked again and this cable plugged in so easily and swiftly.
Owned and used since October 2018, been perfect up until now. Spent a good hour trying to diagnose why my PC wouldn’t connect to the screen, trying different settings, powering off and on, reinstalling graphics drivers and updating software. I then tried plugging the cable into my laptop but had no luck there, In the end I tried a different cable that I normally us with my laptop in cases of connecting to projectors or TVs, it worked worked, so it was all down to a fault cable. Would say that I have had my money’s worth out of it and would still recommend to people for the price.
Bought this to run a Samsung Synchmaster HD display from an HP desktop. Didn't work as a straight fit from the desktop display port to the HDMI connector on the display. No error messages. So, connected it via an HDMI/DVI adapter, plugged it into the DVI input and everything is now working fine, with an excellent picture, much better than VGA. Speedy delivery, and very good service.
Bought two cables for a dual monitor PC setup. Displayport functioned instantly once plugged into the HDMI monitors. No need to set up any further. Everything such as resolution and refresh rate are automatically recognised by the device.
Would recommend it for sure, but it could potentially be a bit cheaper.
