Words of Weight (English Edition) Kindle-editie
Poetry that seeks to marry words and their definitions to the emotional responses they bring us in the walking world.
- an excerpt -
A living continuation bridge
Around anchors of moments
As time pulls us
Across expanses wide
We become walkways
To dance upon
Come walk this journey of words with Mary Grace as she ties language and emotions together.
"Mary's command of words is astonishingly beautiful. Such woven lines as "lingering as perfume on skin despite distance," and "repeating a truth that was taught in love even when sitting alone" are prime examples of the author's supreme writing skills." - Mary-Lisa Russo -
"The poems in Words of Weight paint beautiful and vivid pictures of the human experience in this world, along with reminding the reader of the beauty and hope found through our Creator. I highly recommend this read!" - Michael Bergman -
"I'm not quite sure how the poet does it, but she's able to create such strong images in few words. I found myself looking forward to the next poem. Impact is one of my favorites, but each one is beautifully wrought. You can tell she wrote these from deep within her heart." - Ericka Clay ---Deze tekst verwijst naar de paperback editie.

And once again we are treated to a sample of her own artwork on the cover, which I always find important – a poet’s work is a mobile thing and sometimes a meaning must be tackled from a different point of view – there are always extra and rare words in a poets artistic application – in fact, I get the word: ‘stoic’ from her water colour, which I feel points to so much of the weight in this book – it is stoic – somewhat devout and highly entertaining in its search for compelling thoughts and avenues of creativity.
"Across expanses wide. We become walkways to dance upon."
Her ‘Words of Weight’ certainly prompted me to write this review as a sort of reply from the wilderness. An echo back that I hope will also prompt readers to add this book to their library.
I particularly liked:
I recommend this to any soul who needs to steal quiet moments of reflection. Herein lies reminders of God’s peace.
