Gabriel “Bull” del Toro loves his fast-paced globe-trotting job, but aches for an honest relationship and the trust that comes with it. After a few too many heartbreaks, he’s nearly given up hope of finding that special someone.
Until Ben.
Born deaf, Ben is used to working twice as hard for what he wants, but risking a newfound friendship on an impossible dream is scary. After all, there’s one lesson he’s learned: everything is temporary—freedom, friends, even family.
Neither man expects the undeniable spark between them or for every moment together to fuel that connection. For the first time, a happily ever after is within reach, but they must trust that the dream of acceptance, family, and a place to call home is more than a sweet fantasy.
It can be forever.

These two men are absolutely perfect for each other. Ben's kind, gentle and somewhat naive nature speaks to Gabriel's protective streak and need to love and nurture; whereas Bull's innate kindness, patience and loving personality is exactly the kind of person Ben needs to help him grow in confidence and as a person living with a disability (he is deaf).
Overall, this is another very fine piece of work in a consistently good series. It's almost a 5* read for me, but it just felt a little too long in places...it feels to me like another editing sweep could have trimmed it down just a little. However, I still recommend A Sweet Man as a lovely slow burn romance with an age gap trope...4*

There was less angst in this book than in some of the others, which isn't a complaint, but it felt like the tale had to be building to something - and the clues were there, cleverly buried so that I didn't suspect - and it all kicked off at about 90% of the tale gone. What reared its head did feel organic but I think that a little more of Bull's time in the military would have helped make the event more believable. It was a catalyst of sorts for the leads to embark on their HEA, and I liked that the latter came some 7 months later, as the tale itself didn't take place over a very long period of time.
This tale, whilst not similar in terms of the storyline, reminded me a lot of Jessie G's For A Reason, one of my all-time fave MM tales. Both alpha leads were nicknamed Bull, were ex military, were strong protector types and both had been longing for something that you wouldn't really expect from the tough-guy type. Both were gentle giants, with big romantic streaks. And, their co-leads were kind of similar too - guys dealt a tough time by family, by circumstances, but who found family.
Not unexpectedly, this tale was pure class from this autobuy author - a tale that felt organic, that flowed, with love - not sex - scenes that were sexy and connecting, and with not one bubble butt or trope in sight. I cannot tell you how refreshing that is, not to have a quota of pop terms/acts/dialogue, etc. dropped in because it's expected. That in itself elevates a tale for me, and this one is one of the best I've read this year, and yes, do judge this series by the gorgeous covers, courtesy of Jaime Reese herself.

In this book we meet Ben who is blind and had previously stayed at the HH before falling into bad company and going back to prison to finish his sentence. Now he is just out ready for a fresh start but being blind makes him vulnerable and an easy target.
Bull is tough and scary on the outside but so,loving and protective of his family and friends.
There are quite a few twists and turns and it had me guessing at all times. I loved Watching Ben come into his own whilst wanting to wrap Ben him up and protect him also.
It was great to see the old characters and have bbq at HH like old times.
I look forward to seeing what Jaime has in store for these men in her next book.

Ben's family and previous poor friendships are revealed throughout the tale, the constant let-downs by his sister and those who sought to abuse his good, generous nature. Ben's stints in prison are barely touched upon, only in relevant & brief flashes.
There's a heartstopping, blood-pumping, on the edge of your seat denouement, as a result of Gabe's security business . This only underlines the depth of their emotions and deep seated love for each other.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it's a keeper for me. I love Jaime Rees's books and she's an autobuy for me.
