The Nine was just so original and clever and this follow up in the series is a worthwhile read. Other reviews point out the sarcasm and snark. Gabe is just sublime in his quest for atonement with his big golden heart.

The twists and turns of the plot are captivating. Another plus is the humor that pervades the story (quirky, offbeat, clever). Can’t wait to read the next in the series!

Took off one star for redundancy that I found tedious. I figured it was for the benefit of those who didn’t read the first book.

I loved the first book but this was even better! Gabe lives in the Ninth level of Hell and works for Judas. He works for a him on secret missions to do Good! He has to keep that ultra secret especially from his partner. He messes up enough.
It is a hilarious book with terrific characters, wonderful backgrounds, weird situations, great action scenes, and plenty of humor. I giggled a lot! As soon as I get a bit more more I will get another book!

voluntarily reviewed this book after receiving a free copy but my opinion is my own. This is my first time reading a book by C.G. Harris. I was intrigued by the description but I felt like I was missing something by not reading the first book in this series.

Overall, not a bad read, although it took me longer than I would have expected. I enjoyed the interaction between Gabe and Alex and the dynamic between Gabe and Zoe.

I enjoyed this story but had a few issues with it. I find it incredibly frustrating when characters that are portrayed as intelligent or bad ass make so many STUPID mistakes and miss obvious clues just to make the story keep going. There was too much of that in this book. Also it ended with not much wrapped up and there was not a super strong plot to begin with. Finally it is feeling like a Sandman Slim copy and I don't like that because it is not nearly as good.
