(Book 1 in the Drunk Monkeys series.)

[Siren Menage Everlasting: Erotic Post-Apocalyptic, Futuristic Sci-Fi, Military/Special Ops Menage a Trois Romance, M/F/M, HEA]

When you absolutely, positively have a world to save, you need to call in...the Drunk Monkeys.

Celia Jorgens is a reporter from Chicago. Traveling to Australia, she's chasing the story of a lifetime--and a scientist she thinks might have answers to stop the deadly Kite virus that's ravaging the globe.

Tango and Doc are part of the Drunk Monkeys elite special ops unit. They've been given a mission, to bring in the scientist and use the reporter to find him. Unfortunately, it turns out shadow factions want them to fail, and the men no longer know who they can trust.

As passions flare between Celia and her two hunky military men, they all find themselves in a race to escape Australia before the borders close and their enemies find them. Now, it's up to Celia and the Drunk Monkeys to go off-the-grid and commit a little monkey business of their own before time runs out for the human race.

5.0 van 5 sterren I love this series. A fun, steamy, futuristic. 27 december 2015

I love this series. A fun, steamy, futuristic, series. Rereading since the last few books will be out soon, and being better about reviewing. Set about 100 years in the future, Monkey Business, intorduces a world that is largely unchanged, still a lot of political corruption, still fighiting amongst ourselves, still having big economic ups and down, though women now outnumber men due to the constant states war, mostly with terrorists. The Drunk Monkeys are an elite covert military team of 20. Their current mission is to locate the scientist who are responsible for a deadly bioweapon that is making it's way through the thrid world. The team get orders to follow a young reporter who may have a lead on one of the scientists. Celia Jorgens is a young reporter who is working on a career making story. She is kidnapped by Doc and Tango of the Drunk Monkeys, the teams Doctor and Medic. Once their objective is explained she agrees to help. Doc and Tango are place in charge of her care and it isn't long that the three develope an attraction to each other. Celia is likeable, she is a bit naive, and ditzy at times, but not stupid, just young and out of her element. Doc and Tango are what you expect in your heroes, hot alpha types with eyes only for their women. The bad Rev Silo is easy to hate.

5.0 van 5 sterren Good Start to a series! 25 juli 2014

I really liked this story. It's set in a post-apocalyptic future, where China and North Korea have unleashed a deadly virus on the world called KITE. A Special Force team has been sent in (Code Name: Drunk Monkeys) in order to track down the doctors who initially created the virus in order to find a cure. There's 20 members in this team, and they all go by code names, which seems to be based off the military alphabet (Alpha, Oscar, Tango, Doc...).

I normally don't care much for post-apocalyptic stuff (I also don't like monkeys drunk or sober, but thankfully, it's just a code name), but since it's Tymber Dalton, I thought I'd give it a go. I'm glad I did.

My only big criticism is that it was really too short. This is a BIG world that Dalton is building, and she focuses a lot of the book on setting everything up. Even the bad guy in this (who really does creep me out) has his own chapters set in his POV. Seriously, the guy is FUBAR. Very creepy.

The only other criticism is that due to the amount of information we're given, there's very little set up for the main characters: reporter Ceclia and the Special Ops guys of Tango and Doc. Don't get me wrong, when they do finally get together, they're hot, but compared to the author's other books, they don't have much time together. I'm hoping that since this is the first book in what is supposed to be a 10 book series, the next books will have more pages devoted to the main romance. My only other concern is that there are two members of the Drunk Monkeys with code names of Papa and Uncle and it'll be awkward reading their stories, lol.

This also seems to be a series where it will be imperative that you read them in order, so make sure you start with this one. All in all, I really enjoyed reading this and I just ordered the second book from Bookstrand.

I admit, I was put off by the futuristic setting and the Drunk Monkeys idea when reading the synopsis. But, man was I wrong to judge a book by the four sentence description. This is a great start to an intriguing idea for a series. The romance is not overtaken by actual story, but it's there and hot. The story is intriguing, all the characters developed and most importantly, it is edited beautifully. I am off to purchase book two of this great series.

Love the world building in this book. I unfortunately found that I couldn't connect with the characters like I usually do in Tymber's books. It seemed like it was rushed to me. No real meat on their bones so to speak. However, I will read the next in the series if only to find out what happens in this new world.

2.0 van 5 sterren Not worth your time - stick to her romance books 16 februari 2016

I've read many Tymber Dalton books. She's usually really good at interesting characters that feel sincere. She walked away from her strength on this book - creating 1-dimensional characters across the board. This is a dystopian global pandemic story with a really odd 'romance' thrown in. A man made Kite virus created in North Korea begins to spread across the world. Nothing is known about the virus and any information has been blown by Chinese nuclear strike. The scientists that created the virus were able to slip out of Korea before the bombing and scattered across the globe to go into hiding. Their goal: make a vaccination. So instead of posting all their research online and/or mailing the centers for disease control across multiple countries or mailing it to universities...they decide to do the work by themselves, knowing they're being hunted and knowing that the virus is mutating spontaneously and has the potential to wipe out all of humanity. So...a fledgling reporter from Chicago deciphers where one of the virus creators might have gone and she heads by herself to Australia to track a Korean scientist down and interview him. When she arrives in Australia, she encounters the Drunk Monkeys special ops team. They partner up and she gets the chance to interview the scientist from North Vietnam. She is snarky to him (her word, not mine) an oh-so-professional way to deal with a criminal and surprisingly, he talks to her despite her open disdain for him. The next day, she's fallen in love with two guys to the point where they are actually making lifetime commitments to each other. Some other action adventures and plot twists occur. We also meet the super villain of the series, an unscrupulous American preacher that has a plan to use the virus/vaccine for his own nefarious purpose. The lack of logic in this story is maddening.

It's a poorly thought out action adventure book. I could go along with that if the characters were interesting or the romance was good, but she struck out on all three points. I won't be reading the rest of her series.
