Over de auteur
The lineage of women before her have always said to her in no uncertain terms that the time to be brave, is now. That the time to be quiet, is never. And how you choose to share, that is your heart-work. And this is Danielle's heart-work.
And so, her offering is the words unsaid, in the spaces we need it most. It is the lonely spaces, the low-lit spaces, the dark corners, and the rooms we don't often go. Too, it is the top of the mountain spaces, the light rising through the curtain spaces, the 2 a.m. sitting on the kitchen floor with the people who know you best, in-love spaces, gently reminding you that you are never alone.

To say this book is a MUST BUY is an understatement. It's not just a must buy... it's a must read, must mesmerize, must cherish, must share, must gift, must must must.
You'll cling to this book for its ability to instantly shift your perspective and change your heart. Through raw, vulnerable words, you'll find yourself on a journey of discovery, perseverance, and self love.
I'll never forget when I first found Danielle's heart floating across the feed of her Instagram. I was in a break up that was rocking my world, shattering my self confidence. My phone was filled with screenshots of her feed, and now I have my own book to highlight, re-read again and again, and share. Oh what a journey.
Thank you to this sweet, powerful spirit who wrote this book. I needed this book, we needed this book, and the world needs this book. Thank you x infinity for your strength + heart. God didn't miss a detail when he created YOU!
I'd never heard of Danielle Doby until literally about 9 days ago after talking to, uhh, a member of her tribe. See what I did there?
I still haven't really done any research on who she is or what else of hers is out there; all I'm familiar with of hers is this book. Now as most of you probably know, this isn't really a "book, book", like one you necessarily read front to back. I mean sure, you can, but I think the impact is, well, less impactful if done that way.
What I've been doing is simply flipping to a random page and drawing inspiration, random thoughts, an introspective self-reflection or whatever else you feel like calling it from the words on the page. Sometimes those words on page number in the 100s, sometimes it's a total of 4, and sometimes it's just a small portion of a greater work. I guess you don't always need to see the big picture. And in all honesty, I probably connect more with the pages of few words and a zoomed-in focus, forgetting the larger story at hand.
Now I can't claim to be able to relate to *ALL* the passages, words, or meanings. My thighs have never been forced open to men of pain, men of shame, nor do I think they ever will be (re: page 47). So not 100% relatable, but you know what I mean.
I teach yoga and every week I generate a different theme for class. I can flip to any random page, extract, interpret, or relate to (in most cases, as demonstrated above) what's written, then apply to my life or those in my life. It's nice to have a small companion in my backpack or on my bookshelf that can supply this quick breath of fresh air.
You don't have to be a female to connect to, or become inspired by, this book. For less than $10, consider this is gift to your mental health and a reprieve from the self-indulgent world of Instagram.
