As the book title implies, this book is only intended to be a basic phrasebook for beginners who want to learn Modern Greek (not ancient or biblical Greek), which also contains useful vocabulary. It is not a textbook, exercise book or tourist book, and it does not contain videos or sound files. This book does contain a phonetic transcription for most of the phrases that are practical for conversation or useful in daily life. However, since this book contains no audio files, I recommend going to websites on the internet where you can hear the pronunciation of Greek sounds and words. For example, if you type a word or phrase in English in Google Translator (on the left side), the Greek translation will appear on the right side. Below the Greek text, if you click on the speaker icon, you can hear the pronunciation of the word or phrase. Anna Blushi is a Greek native who has more than fifteen years experience as translator. Dave Luton is a native of the U.S. and worked several years as a high school Spanish teacher in the state of North Carolina before moving to Spain where he currently works as an English teacher. Author Disclaimer: As a native speaker of the Greek language, Anna Blushi has made significant contributions to this book. However, she is not responsible for parts of the book to which she did not contribute.
