Sequel to Better WITH a Bag Than IN a Bag, Another BAG Another DAY continues with the adventures of ostomate Jo-Ann L. Tremblay and Percy her life sustaining stoma. It was July 22, 2012, the day after the 1 year anniversary of her lifesaving surgery. Their 1st annual Celebration of Life Day together was now history. The candles have been blown out; the cupcakes devoured. Percy and Jo-Ann had thrown away their gem-studded ostomy bag. Time to move on – or so they thought, on the horizon there was another storm brewing.
The full impact of the lingering damage from the original disease, the damage from the extensive surgery, and the emotional toll it takes to adapt and live with an altered body function was just beginning. Gun metal black, indigo and grey clouds of pain and doubt swirled and boiled inside of her. Jo-Ann's body and emotions seemed filled with unseen monsters, bewitching her with their seductive mystery, beckoning ever beckoning, her to jump. With all the power left in them, it was time for Jo-Ann and Percy to harness the power of the storm within.
As they march to the beat of the recovery drum, Jo-Ann, Percy and an army made up of family, friends, caregivers and medical professionals, are on a healing journey filled with disaster and triumph. This is a true life tale of exploration of the human body and the adventure of the human spirit, that goes beyond survival to arrive at the gateway of a new world, a new life, a new normal.
